Trendy Makeup Bags!!

Recently, I have seen a few makeup travel bag videos on Youtube so I thought I would do a post about where you could get a cute one! The ones I chose are all relatively inexpensive and none of them cost more than $10! I am always traveling a lot and having a big-sized, durable makeup bag is a necessity! I hope you enjoy this post and find a makeup bag that works for you!

The first three bags I want to show you all are from Forever 21! The first two only cost $5.80 and the third bag is $7.80. The third one also folds out and has two big pockets perfect for holding every kind of makeup!

Here are two more expandable makeup bags that fold open with pockets! The first one is also from Forever 21 and only costs $7.80! The second one is from Charlotte Russe and is more for the purpose of holding brushes and manicure tools. It costs $10.50.

To switch it up a bit, here are three bags from Aeropostale that each cost $9.99!

Next, are four sequin bags of the same design from Forever 21 which cost $6.80 each. Sorry if you are sick of me choosing stuff from Forever 21 by this point. lol There is just so much cute stuff there! This bag also comes in black but is not pictured below.

Alright so these four are also from Forever 21. The first one is $4.80 and the second one costs $5.80 and has adorable sequins on the lettering! The third makeup bag only has sequins on the sides of the cheetah print but costs $4.80! The fourth bag is for the price of $5.80.

Let me know which one is your favorite! :) They are the cutest ones I could find!

My Talent Show Performance!

Hi everyone! So tonight is my school's talent show and I will unfortunately be unable to go since I will be out of town. Since I can't perform for my classmates, I thought I would share part of my last years performance with you all! :) I'm glad that I will at least have one audience to watch me perform this year (you all!). So I hope you enjoy the video! This was recorded by my friend and the microphone is a little off.
This song is called the Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin.

Celebrity Inspiration: Dianna Agron

Dianna Agron is one of my favorite celebrities after watching her performances on the hit show Glee. If you haven't seen the show yet then you can check out my review of it by clicking here. You may also recognize her from advertisements for the Wal-Mart brand OP. Basically, I have always admired her outfits and the way she incorporates items from different eras into them. I would describe her style as very classy but a bit old-fashioned. I also love how she does her makeup because for the most part is fairly simple but at the same time very stunning. She also seems like someone who is very confident and comfortable in her skin. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Dianna which will hopefully inspire you too!
(I do not own any of these photos.)

REVIEW: ALMAY Pure Blends Foundation and Clean & Clear In-Shower Facial

ALMAY Pure Blends Foundation- So while the CVS clearance sales were going on, I ran into this product and completely bought it on a whim! I was scanning through the whole store and there were two of these foundations left and they were both in my color!! (My color for these is Sand.) I was super lucky! They were each $2.62 due to the sale so I decided to get both! :) (They retail for $10.50 each.) I had never heard of this product nor I had ever tried any ALMAY products before. This foundation has SPF 20 and is made from 97.4% natural ingredients! Oddly enough, the company does not specify whether or not this is a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer. I however would classify it as a tinted moisturizer.. It was quite oily feeling to be honest. I was not too fond of this because I do have oily skin; however, I was able to get rid of the overly glowy finish by covering it with powder. This also easily comes off your face if you accidentally wipe your shirt against your face or something so I could not imagine wearing this in the summer like other tinted moisturizers because with the sweat and everything this would be a mess. I would say this product is perfect for people with dry skin and relatively clear skin because there was minimal coverage with this. The product when applied though does not look cakey at all and really melts into your skin which is gorgeous. There is also a floral scent to this foundation that I don't really like.. but then again it doesn't really bother me that much. This is also hypoallergenic meaning that it will probably not cause you to break out which is always a plus. :) Overall, I think this product is okay but I would probably not repurchase this especially because in my opinion it is not worth over $10.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst In-Shower Facial- I finally finished a full bottle of this so I thought it would be appropriate to do a full review on it. Basically this is a face wash you are supposed to leave on your face for 1-3 minutes while you are in the shower because the steam from the water is supposed to work with the product. The smell of this is very citrusy and has scents of orange in it which I loved. However, I did not find that this product made my skin clearer or smoother at all. It is an exfoliant too but the beads in it are super small. The only good thing about this was that my face did feel cooler and refreshed once I stepped out of the shower. Juicystar07 from Youtube mentioned that this product brings up your acne to wear it is close enough to the surface to pop. That was totally not true for me with this product; it didn't do anything regarding that aspect. This is only good for the purpose of wanting to feel more awake in the morning.. otherwise there really is no point in getting this. Oh also, I feel like this product is a ripoff because there is so little product in the tube. Like literally, I think 20% of the bottle is filled with air. I probably got 10 uses out of this before it ran out. It cost $6.99 or something close to that but I will not be repurchasing this either because it just didn't do enough for me.

Let me know if you have tried either product and whether or not it worked for you!

Em

Bronze Makeup Look Inspired By Ashley Benson and Review on Pretty Little Liars!!

Alright so lately I have been hooked on the show Pretty Little Liars. It is sooo suspenseful but not too scary (because I am the biggest wuss when it comes to scary movies lol). It is about 4 girls who were best friends with a girl who went missing and now they are trying to find out who murdered her. It is such a good show and I have no idea how it is going to end! All the girls are also extremely pretty and have such great clothes on the show!

One of the girls in particular, Ashley Benson who plays Hannah, always seems to stun me with her gorgeous makeup and outfits! I'm always wondering what she is going to wear next! I wanted to show you all this bronzy/ golden makeup look that was inspired by Ashley Benson!

Well the camera does not do much justice to this first picture but basically I went for a very shimmery gold color on the lids and a coppery lip color. Everything in this look was very glittery and would look great in any season!

In the pictures below, you will hopefully be able to see how much shimmer is in the eyeshadow and lipstick/ lipgloss. Yea I'm not much of a matte makeup person haha

List of Products

  1. Lancome 3-D Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black
  2. Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Waterproof Mascara
  3. Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in "Give Me Gold" (I used the copper color on top of the MAC eyeshadow to add a more bronzy color and I mixed the gold and white color for the inner corner.)
  4. Estee Lauder Pure Pops Lip Gloss in Sugar Pie
  5. MAC Mineralized Dual Eyeshadow in Mayhem (I used this without a base and look how vibrant it is on the picture of my eyes!!)
  6. Estee Lauder Lipstick in Tiger Eye
  7. Revlon Eyelash Curler
- Earrings that I am wearing in the pictures are also in the picture above.

Let me know what you think of Ashley Benson, if you like this look, or if you like Pretty Little Liars!! I highly recommend the show!

Guy Q&A: What is the #1 mistake girls make with clothes or makeup that drives you crazy? MUST READ

Okay so I thought that it would be very helpful to everyone if I asked my guy friends what is the thing they really hate that girls do with makeup or fashion. Now I understand some of you may read this and say "Well what do they know? They aren't interested in makeup or any of that stuff." Yea sure this is true but don't you wonder sometimes what guys think about your look? Here is a post that will hopefully help everyone understand what bothers or annoys the males in our life. (Just as a heads up, please keep an open mind when reading this.)

#1) Too much makeup. The absolute number one response that I received was that guys hate when girls put on too much makeup. I asked 17 guys and 10 of them said they don't think a lot of makeup is attractive at all. One guy said too much makeup hides natural beauty and guys like subtle makeup. Another guy justified his answer by saying that girls tend to become dependent on makeup. He said: "I have no problem with a tad bit of eyeliner or blush or lipstick to highlight some stuff, but there should never be a hugely dramatic difference between no makeup and makeup. It gets distracting when there is an overload of makeup." Another person said: "Don't put on so much makeup that I can't see your face. Too much makeup indicates low self esteem and girls always appear more beautiful when they can be confident and embrace themselves."

      Here were some other answers:
  • Too much lipstick or putting on any red lipstick (One guy described it as being terrible.)
  • Too much eyeshadow- especially purple eyeshadow. One guy said he really doesn't like it when girls put on colored makeup because it doesn't look natural.
  • Too much blush
  • "Fake tans are disgusting."
  • Dressing up too much
  • "They always think they can wear better clothes or better makeup. They're fine the way they are."
  • Girls that wear clothing that is extremely uncomfortable for the sake of style.
  • Sagging their pants
  • Looking emo (lol)
  • Wearing the same hoodie everyday
  • Girls shouldn't try and cover up flaws but rather enhance their best features.
  • Short skirts aren't attractive. "Showing everything like your butt crack when your skirt is too short is gross."
  • Looking "easy"
  • Buying new dresses for every single event because girls wear them once and never wear them again.
  • "I hate and love really tight sweat pants..." (I think he is talking about yoga pants). "...I hate you for making me want to look but I love you for how it looks."
  • Clothes when it doesn't make sense.
  • "I absolutely hate cake face makeup on girls, but who doesn't. I also get really cringey when I get close to a girl and you can see powder build up on her cheeks."
  • When a girl throws on lots of fake 'bling' for no reason.
  • "If you feel comfortable and relaxed in your clothes then we will too. Sometimes a well fitted pair of jeans is most attractive."
Okay girls so here is what I think everyone should take away from this. Yes the truth can hurt but some things should probably be changed if you are loading tons of makeup on and want guys attention. Sure it is okay to branch out every now and then but consistently doing it is a little much. Basically I have learned that natural looking makeup is the way to go. Here are some pictures that will hopefully inspire you to try it out.

Let me know if there are any questions you would like my guy friends to answer!
