Day 30: the end of the challenge

(stompriteentertainment.com)
The most popular post during the 30 day challenge was Day 05: Favourite things to do
I'd just like to say thank you all for all the support; for following my blog, commenting, and interacting with me throughout the challenge ^-^

It was a bit of challenge for me to do this challenge (hahaha)... The hardest part was actually posting everyday. It wasn't an easy task, but i got through it! I'd definately consider doing another challenge again, but for now i'll be redesigning the blog layout and posting more product review posts. I wont be posting every single day, but i'm hoping to blog more often to keep the blog more exciting for my followers.
Thank you again!

Day 28: Your favourite hair product

CHI Silk Infusion Silk Reconstructing Complex
My current favourite hair product is the CHI silk infusion. It's a really great product that i love using. For my complete review click here.

My Take on Beauty Trends for Autumn/Winter 2011

I'm channeling my inner Kim Kardashian for my take on this seasons latest beauty trends...

Keep day looks fresh with blended neutral eyes and light pinky nude lips. For eyes, I love champagnes, coppers and light browns and to continue the soft look use a shadow for liner and apply using an angled brush.

Contouring and highlighting the face will accentuate your features and add a little summer glow to winter pale skin.

Bring life into your winter wardrobe by adding a pop of colour to your manicure; my current favs are pastels (love mint green), peaches and mauves or for a more sophisticated look, choose deep purples, blacks and greys.

For night looks, opt for darker mysterious smoky eyes and experiment by adding colours such as plum, navy or charcoal teamed with lashes of length and volume.

For evening looks, I also love the bold lip in red or plum however; I prefer to team a bold lip with neutral eyes or a smoky eye with a more neutral lip to balance out the desired look.

What are your fav trends for Autumn/Winter? Or for those who are entering Spring/Summer, what do I have to look forward to next season?

Day 27: Your favourite skincare product

Laneige Multicleanser (laneige.com)
My current favourite skincare product is the Laneige Multicleanser. It is a multicleanser because it is a 4-in-1 cleanser that removes makeup, removes sunscreen, exfoliates and cleanses at once. This is an awesome cleanser. I will be doing reviews so that i can give it a proper review...I'll do all this once the challenge is over ^-^

Australis Paparazzi Perfect

The current ad campaign for the new Australis collection "Paparazzi Perfect" has been catching my eye recently and in particular, the HD Eyeshadow Palettes.

The collection has four palettes each with five beautiful pearlescent colours that were chosen to complement each other and are nicely pigmented.

As always, I was drawn towards the neutral palette of the collection, Snap Attack, which contains charcoal, light cream, light orange, light beige and light brown.

I created a neutral eye with the charcoal (outer lid), light orange (inner lid) and light beige (highlight), however, funnily enough, it did not photograph well (the tag line for the collection is "Put an end to bad photos") but I was happy with the result and how the shadows applied and blended.

For a "drug store" brand, I really love the versatility of this product and will have fun creating both day and night looks with the five pretty colours.

Purchase Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Eyeshadow for $15.95 from Big W, K Mart, Priceline and Target.

**UPDATE: For a chance to win an Australis HD Eyeshadow palette and a gorgeous shade of nail polish visit Katelyn and Megan blog Crosswire Dreamers and enter their Australis giveaway.

Day 26: An item from your wishlist

Gianmarco Lorenzi crystal disco ball heels (google.com)
These bad boys are still on my wish list! They are just so gorgeous; but are they worth the $3,000?
What do YOU think? Would you pop $3,000 to get your hands on these "delicious" pumps?

Day 25: Your favourite eyeliner

Avon glimmerstick eye liner (avon.com)
My favourite eye liner is Avon's glimmerstick eye liner in black. It's a really nice liner; it's easy to use, reasonably priced, and does what it says. ^-^

Shiny Hair REVIEW: Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Serum vs. Fantastic Sams Spray Shine

Every girl seeks out the perfect way to obtain flowy, shiny hair, right? Well I currently own two products that I had bought because they claimed to make give my hair a nice, healthy shine. Here are my thoughts on both!

Name: Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Weightless Anti-Frizz Serum
Where You Can Get It: Drugstore
Price: Price will vary but at CVS it is $6.29
Claim: "It contains nutritive fruit micro-oils to tame frizz and flyaways.Weightless conditioners improve texture and manageability for all hair types."
My Experience: This is definitely NOT weightless! It is a super super greasy product and does nothing but make your hair oily! It smells okay though.. it is sort of a heavy/ not-very-fresh citrus scent. I also had a friend who tried this product and she feels the exact same about the greasiness. For her though, she couldn't get it out of her hair! It took her like 2-3 days to wash it out!
How I Make It Work: I will sometimes apply this to the ends of my hair when my hair is still damp from the shower. This way it doesn't weight down my hair as much because some of it evaporates with the water since I air dry my hair.

Name: Fantastic Sams Spray Shine
Where You Can Get It: Hair Salon
Price: $8-10
Claim: "It contains an exclusive blend of pro-vitamin, soy protein and silicone that helps strengthen and smooth hair while adding incredible shine."
My Experience: This product is definitely better than the Garnier Fructis one. I was really timid to try another shine product after the first one because I figured they were all going to make my hair heavy and greasy. When I asked the lady at the salon about a shine spray, she recommended this to me. There is definitely silicone in this and it makes my hair sort of waxy.. but nonetheless still smooth and shiny. The spray has a light citrus scent to it that smells like a mix of oranges and silicone. lol This also has UV protection in it so that's great!
How I Make It Work: I think this works well all over on dry hair but sometimes I apply it on my roots after my hair is damp from a shower. Only use ONE spritz though because your hair will get oily if you apply too much product! I spray this about a foot and a half away from the top of my head and run my fingers through my hair once it has all settled.

So if I had to recommend one of these products, I would definitely go with the Fantastic Sams Spray Shine.
But I'm still on the lookout for a good shine spray so let me know if you have any recommendations!! :)

Day 24: Your favourite food

Italian cuisine (i-italy.org)
I love a variety of food, including; Italian, Jamaica, Indian, Japanese, Filipino, and Mexican. I like variety, and those are some great tasting food variety *hehehe*

Day 23: Place where you want to live

A villa in Jamaica (google.com)
If i could live anywhere in the world, i'd want to live in Jamaica. It's beautiful, the people are awesome, the lifestyle is so relaxing.. what more do i need to say? it's JAMAICA! *lol*

Day 22: Your favourite mascara

Avon astonishing lengths mascara (avon.com)

My favourite mascara is Avon's astonishing lengths mascara in black. I've tried many different brands of mascaras, from drugstore labels to higher end brands and always go back to this mascara. It really lengthens my lashes, without that clumpy look; and it doesn't smudge nor does it leave my lashes feeling heavy or irritated. I already have naturally long lashes but this mascara leaves my lashes looking so lovely ^-^

Day 21: Your favourite lipstick

Avon ultra color rich lipstick (avon.com)
I don't really have a favourite lipstick, but if i had to choose one i currently like a lot then it'd have to be the Avon ultra color rich lipstick in country rose ^-^

My family and friends make me happy ^-^.
Knowing that they are there for me whenever i need them; whether it be for moral support, or just to put a smile on my face. Knowing that i can trust them and confide in them makes be happy.

This is an extra special post because it's my BIRTHDAY today!! *yeaah*. It's a happy day for me and i can't wait to enjoy what the rest of the day has to offer.
Ciao!

Day 19: Your favorite season and why

REVIEW: Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

So I got a test strip of the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strip because it was included in my Seventeen magazine last month. If you were to purchase this in full size, a box comes with 8 strips and costs $7.99. I finally decided to use my sample strip though because I'm starting to get a zit on my nose. So I was like okay lets see if I can clear it up with these deep cleansing strips. And honestly, all I can say is that I hate this product.. sooo much.

Instructions: Wet your nose and then put the strip on your nose. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and it will dry like paper machete.

My experience: The strips harden on your face to the point that the paper feels thick. I kept it on for the longest recommended time (15 minutes) and when time was up, the strip was incredibly hard to take off! Literally, it was like pulling duct tape off my face or something. It actually hurt so much that I started crying a little from trying to take this off (natural tears). Even worse, the product did absolutely nothing to help me with my incoming zit.. My nose is still just as red as it was before I put this on.. It claims that you will see the removed dirt on the strip after you take it off your nose but there was absolutely nothing on mine.. The strip looked exactly the same as it did before I applied it.

Decision: I highly do not recommend this product. haha

Day 18: Five places you would like to visit

Japan (http://fliiby.com)

The Phillippines (http://bestphilippinetouristspots.com/)
It wasn't easy picking just five because i love to travel, meet new people, and experience different cultures. But for the sake of this challenge i chose only five; the top five places i really want to visit. I decided to choose according to the countries i want to visit most:
Jamaica - I've been numerous times, but want to go back again & again. I ♥ Jamaica! *hehehe*
Japan - I've wanted to visit for some time now & hopefully i will soon
Phillippines - I would love to visit everywhere there (Manila, Boracay, Baguio, etc)
India - I'd love to visit and see so many of their historical architectures
France - Paris, Bordeaux City, Nice, etc

REVIEW: e.l.f. Beauty Book Smokey Eye Edition/ HELP on my e.l.f. Shopping List!

Hey everyone! So today when I was chilling with my mom, I was talking to her about the e.l.f. Beauty Book palette in the Smokey Eye Edition because she bought this about a month ago. She told me that she bought this because of the reasonable price and because she needed a decent black eyeshadow. This was limited edition and you may not be able to find it anymore.. I think they still sell it in Ross and TJ Maxx stores though for $5! Anyways, this contains 12 eyeshadows, 1 black eyeliner, and 1 sponge applicator. (Pictures of the Beauty Book are from http://plustique.blogspot.com/)

The shades outlined below are the only shades that I liked. They were highly pigmented and not as chalky as the other ones. The black is actually pretty high quality. It has a bit of shimmer in it but has super long stian power. I swatched it on my hand and then rubbed my hand under running water and it still did not all come off. I'm loving the silver as well as it has a metallic finish. I however did not try out the eyeliner or sponge applicator so I can't way anything about that.

So overall, I would not recommend this palette. The other colors besides the ones in the yellow outline are nothing special at all and don't give off much coloration.

Alright, so now for the part where I need your help. My friend and I are going to order some e.l.f products online in a week and I am oober excited! Here is what I am planning to buy. I have done a fair amount of research on each item so this may help you if you are planning to order from e.l.f. soon, too! I would really love if you could tell me whether or not you have tried the product and what you thought of it! I would also love the hear recommendations for great products!

e.l.f. Studio Complete Coverage
Concealer in Medium- $3

e.l.f. Studio Blush in Candid Coral- $3

e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeshadow in Dawn- $3
